The King of Kings wins a record eight WWE crowns


Amidst the dense cold fog, inside a dreaded 10-ton steel battlefield 16-foot-high, one warrior overcame unfavorable odds to stands alone on the plateau of ultimate glory.

Triple H’s Elimination Chamber triumph Sunday over five of SmackDown’s top Superstars at No Way Out 2009 went beyond making him a 13-time World Champion. In one fateful moment, his monumental conquest decisively set The Game apart as the first Superstar to win the coveted WWE Championship eight times, more WWE Championship reigns than any other Superstar in history.

As the WWE crown once again rests securely on the head of The King of Kings, Triple H takes his place at the top of the mountain, gazing down at The Rock, who now holds the No. 2 spot with seven WWE Championship reigns, WWE Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin who carried the title an illustrious six times, WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hit Man” Hart who has held it five, as well as many other legendary Superstars.

And like many of the majestic monarchs of the mat that came before him, Triple H - without question a future WWE Hall of Famer himself - forged his greatness in a mighty battle worthy of the Gods, reigning supreme over the SmackDown elite by pinning Undertaker with a hard-hitting Pedigree, after outlasting Edge, Big Show, Vladimir Kozlov and Jeff Hardy in the ominous Satan’s Structure.
